Welcome to Broken Road Ranch Morgans!
We are a small ranch, located in Troy, Montana, focusing on sound, level headed Morgans who will become your willing partner in what ever discipline you choose. In October of 2011, we moved our Morgan ranch to the beautiful Yaak River area, where we are surrounded by gorgeous mountains and rivers and our property adjoins thousand of acres of Forest service land.
We happen to use our horses for pleasure riding and camping but as any Morgan horse lover knows, Morgans can do anything you want them to. We are proud to present the newest addition to our family, our full Lippitt black stallion, Ryegate RLK Moro (a.k.a. “Eli”). We have been blessed to be given the opportunity to own this beautiful boy who has come to us from the warm sunshine of Florida to the gorgeous rugged beauty of our Montana skies.
My love of horses began as a child in Michigan but I was never able to own my own horse. They simply were not considered a necessity in our family. It wasn’t until moving to Wyoming in the early 90’s that I was finally able to buy my own horse. I began, as many people do, with quarter horses. However, I purchased my first Morgan mare, Brent Mar Coramia, in 1995 from a friend because I wanted an “extra” horse around for when family visited. She turned out to be the most awesome horse I’d ever ridden and needless to say, she did not become the extra horse I had envisioned but became my personal horse. There was no turning back after that. I was hooked on the breed's willingness to do anything you ask and their loving personality.
I moved to Kalispell in 2007 and 6 months later met my wonderful husband Kim. He had no idea what he was getting himself into by marrying a crazy Morgan horse lover. He had never been on a horse in his life. He was a devout Harley Davidson lover. Definitely a different kind of horse! I am so grateful that he has embraced my passion and has become a lover of the breed just as much as I am. He is still getting comfortable on the back of a horse and loves riding and spending time with the horses.
We welcome any and all visitors to our little piece of heaven. When considering breeding your mares please consider our boy Eli. We are only able to provide live cover at this time.
